INTRODUCTION
In July 2017, I undertook the biggest challenge of my live: I decided to cycle 5,000 km
from London to Makkah and perform Hajj, and in the process, raise funds for children
living on the streets of Bangladesh & Pakistan. My love for the land of the Prophet (SAW)
is unmatched. Walking and performing the rituals of Hajj gave me a tranquil and
spiritual feeling I had never felt before, or since.
Reflecting on the Prophet’s (SAW) journey
of the Hijrah, I came up with the idea to
walk in his footsteps. The challenge would
not only be spiritual but one that would
encourage Muslims to lead a healthy
lifestyle and hopefully convey to the world
Islam’s universal message of peace.
Cause; MASJID IN AFRICA
A Masjid is the heart of any Muslim community. It allows
people to gather for prayer and come together in
celebration or mourning.
It is a centre of learning for people of all ages. In deprived
communities with very little resources, these communal
centres are often non-existent or built from flimsy,
temporary materials that offer little protection from the
scorching sun or pouring rain.
We construct Masjids and Madrassahs to allow Muslims
to worship and flourish as well as to promote Islamic
education amongst newer generations.
We have so far constructed 72 Masjids in Pakistan,
Somalia, Kenya, Malawi and Gambia. Last year alone, we
built 3 Masjids and 4 Madrassahs in Gambia, 3 Masjids and
4 Madrassahs in Kenya and 19 Madrassahs in Somalia.
