Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I've recently made the decision to run the Cardiff half marathon in October. No mean feat when, at the time of signing up, the most I had run was 10k. Once.

I'm a relative newbie to running, doing my first park run (a free and timed 5k) in May 2016. I was quickly hooked and even though I felt utterly exhausted at the end of it, the first thing I said once I finished was "I want to do that again." And I did. My running really took off when I took part in advent running (committing to do 30 minutes of running/other exercise every day in December, finishing on Christmas Day). My times improved, I felt fitter and stronger and now I'm ready to really challenge myself.

I'm proud to be running as part of #TeamCardiff for Cardiff University, supporting the research they are doing. I know first hand how running has helped my mental health and it feels fitting to be running to help others.

I'll be documenting my training, please follow me on instagram @sparklyang for the highs, and inevitable lows of training.

Thank you once again, it means a lot.

Angela
