Story
Raphael House is a homeless shelter for families with a mission to help low-income families and families experiencing homelessness strengthen family bonds by achieving stable housing and financial independence. In the last 50 years, Raphael House’s private community-funded model has served over 20,000 individuals with shelter and services proven to break the cycle of generational poverty. Our model of providing a stable home-like shelter, ongoing housing and job placement assistance, and support with emotional and social needs, empowers hundreds of families each year with the personalized solutions they need to build brighter futures. More than 85% of our families achieve long-term, stable housing.
Raphael House's Adopt-A-Family Program began in 1989, serving 100 families in its first year with gifts and necessary items provided by the local community. Since then, the Raphael House community has continued that spirit of giving to spread holiday cheer to thousands of families in need. The Adopt-A-Family Program continues to help families at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness enjoy a holiday season full of warmth and joy. As the COVID-19 pandemic stretches on, families continue to experience reduced work hours and layoffs. Your donations will support the Adopt-A-Family campaign, and may also be applied to supporting Raphael House programs and operations that provide shelter and supportive services to families experiencing homelessness.
