Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 25th March I will be cycling all 55 miles (hills included) around the island of Arran off the west coast of Scotland.
I am doing this to raise funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation. Any support you can give, large or small, would be great - both to motivate me in my challenge and to support the great work outlined below.
This season the Foundation are working with Glasgow City Mission, the Simon Community, the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Beatson Cancer Charity, Breast Cancer Care, four services-related charities and Unicef, the world’s leading children’s charity.
We are also very proud of our own work in the community. Every season they help thousands of fundraisers support causes close to their hearts by making in-kind donations and we assist various community initiatives such as our local food bank. Their comprehensive community programme also reaches thousands of children and adults with important messages and training regarding health and fitness, employment, equality, diversity and education.
How your donations and support will help people around the world
The Rangers Charity Foundation has worked closely with the world’s leading children’s charity, UNICEF, since the start of season 2008/09 when Unicef was announced as the Foundation’s first International Charity Partner.
Breast Cancer Care Scotland is the only Scotland-wide charity providing specialist support and tailored information for anyone affected by breast cancer. We’re proud to support this amazing charity for season 2016/17.
The Simon Community works tirelessly to combat the causes and effects of homelessness and we are proud to support this visionary charity for season 2016/17.
Following the huge success last season of our partnership with Glasgow City Mission the Foundation has teamed up again with the charity to support their vital Evening Drop-in Service for season 2016/17.
We want to help Beatson Cancer Charity contribute to the fight against cancer and support people with cancer and their families in the west of Scotland. We’ve pledged to raise £10,000 to fund a Radiotherapy Research Project.
We’re continuing our long-standing relationship with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity for 2016/17 by pledging £10,000 to help the charity make Christmas extra special for the children and their families, and to fund an important piece of equipment to help young cancer patients.
The Foundation has pledged £25,000 for season 2016/17 to our Armed Forces Partnership supporting Poppyscotland, The Rifles Regimental Trust’s Care For Casualties appeal, Combat Stress and Erskine
