Story
As some of you may know in February 2018 my dad lost his battle with dementia. Having been diagnosed in 2008, he fought this illness for 10 years. It was a tough journey for him and all of us that loved him, but he never gave up, because he was never a quitter. He loved life to the full, especially his family and his many friends. Nothing was ever a problem for him and throughout his lifetime he has helped & guided many people and raised thousands for many different charities.
That’s why I’m taking a leaf out of his book and walking a half marathon on Saturday 22nd September in his memory and for the Alzheimer’s Society. So much more money is needed to help fund research, with the hope of one day finding a prevention or cure for this cruel and degrading illness.
Your support would be very much appreciated.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
