Story
My wonderful dad was diagnosed with Sarcoma in October 2019 after finding a lump on his shin that turned out to be an 11cm tumour. After having reconstructive surgery to take the tumour out, and having radiotherapy to get rid of any cancer around the tumour site, my dad had more scans at the end of January 2020 that confirmed the cancer had spread all over his body, with tumours appearing in his liver, ribs, lungs, scalp etc. After receiving an incurable diagnosis in March 2020, my dad tried his hardest to continue with his physio on his leg, to try and get back to walking again. My dad deteriorated quickly and lost complete use of his leg in a matter of days and was in extreme amounts of pain trying to move it at all. After being hospitalized to try and get to the bottom of the pain, my father passed away a couple of days later on 14th April 2020.
Although we don't yet know why he passed away, we know that the Sarcoma was the main part of the end of his life. My father was a wonderful man that shared his life lighting up the faces of so many, and helping as many as possible through their own lives.
After raising £2500 in 100 days after my dad passed away in 2020, I have been given the challenge of running the London Marathon for Sarcoma UK in October 2021 and hopefully doubling the amount I have raised so far in memory of my dad and my amazing friend Mike who sadly passed away due to cancer 1 exact year after my dad. 🕯
Any help would truly mean the world to me and everyone that it gives the potential to save 🙌🏼
