Story

James Sanders is going for a swim JIMMY SWIMS is a charity swim across Lake Arrowhead to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The event is scheduled for September 4, 2021. Jimmy has battled a rare form of metastasized Stage 4 Papillary Thyroid Cancer since 2012 and is preparing to swim in order to help fund cancer research at UCLA, and UCLA Thyroid Cancer patients who need financial assistance, before he enters into his fourth round of Radioactive Iodine Treatment (RAI). As cancer patients and their families know, the road through treatment is often fraught with many unanswered questions and decisions that require a leap of faith in their doctors. Jimmy has shared that same winding road and appreciates the guidance he's received from so many of UCLA's doctors, including Drs. Christiaan Schiepers, Martin Auerbach, Monica Plesa, Ian Yip, Michael Yeh, Marcella Press, James Wilson, and David Yao.
