Fundraising for Friends of Colombia for Social Aid
Story
Here I go running my FIRST half marathon in the royal park of London representing FOCSA (Friends of Colombia for Social Aid) ), a UK charity which raises funds to support children in need. This initiative is very close to my heart as it means a lot for me as a Colombian to run for the children of my country but in London where I have chosen to live.
I’m also running for my mental health and to prove to myself and my family that we can achieve anything we want, we just need to pursue our dreams, be determined and have the discipline to make it happen.
I was never a runner, this is a hobby that began as a result of the pandemic. I replaced a long commute for running in nature. Crisis can hurt but also make us stronger. I promise I’ll give my best to deliver the 21.1KM, even though I have never done it before.
