Story
Everyone hates cancer. My mother hates it. My father-in-law hates it. My sister-in-law hates it.
It's down to organisations like Cancer Research UK that those three people are still here to be able to hate it.
On the 22nd May 2016 I will be joining nearly 18,000 other cyclists on a 140km tour of South East Wales, in a route taking in Cardiff, Newport, Abergavenny, Caerphilly, and two of the area's most notorious climbs - The Tumble and Caerphilly Mountain.
If that sounds too easy, there's a map here: http://www.velothon-wales.co.uk/en/route/route-information/interactive-route-map-2016-route/
I've cycled to and from work for the past three years, but this is a significant step up from that; longer than any route I've ever cycled before in my life, and I will need to spend the next three months making sure I'm ready for anything it throws at me.
And, because of the impact cancer has had on those close to me, I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK at the same time.
