Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So...having gotten a taste for athletic challenges, I've decided to do something that is a bit more extreme than normal.
I've been getting into this cycling malarky properly and want to raise money for a charity that is close to my family, extended family and has always been part of my life.
I am cycling the Ride 100, a 100 mile cycling event, covering the Olympic road race course starting at the Olympic Park, travelling over to Surrey, cylcing around Surrey and heading back to London, ending on The Strand. The organisers have set a time limit on this, so I am setting the ambitious target of completing this in less than 8 hours, if not less....!
For those that dont know, my parents, close family and even extended family work in mental health, I am the odd one out!.
Having being exposed to this world my whole life, I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly times that mental illness can bring to the one affected and all those around.
So...I'm here raising money for the Alzheimers Society who provide support and assistance to those affected and their families, bringing fantastic help, even if only small to those who need it. Simple things such as fact sheets for carers, drop in sessions, even half a day of respite care can make a huge difference to those invovled with someone that suffers from Alzheimers.
So come on, donate for a worthy cause, I'll be wearing lycra and probably be a horrible mess at the end
