I am running the 2020 London Marathon as part of the BHSF team to raise money for the Brain & Spine Foundation, who have been supporting people affected by neurological disorders for over 25 years.
I am not a natural runner and this is the first run of any distance I have ever done and so this is a huge challenge for me, but all in aid of a great cause.
Any person, at any moment in time, at any age, is at risk of experiencing a neurological trauma, neurological disability or developing a neurological disorder that can have a significant impact on their day-to-day life.
Neurological problems can occur either by accident, injury or through sudden onset.
Other neurological disorders or conditions are present from birth or are hereditary and can affect any part of the brain, spine or nerves.
The Brain & Spine Foundation is the only UK-wide charity providing information and support for every one of the over 470 neurological disorders. Disorders which affect 1 in 6 people in the UK
Their expert services are there for people at every stage, from first symptoms, diagnosis, treatments and in the long term. The charity is entirely funded by voluntary donations from its supporters and receives no government funding.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
