Story
Starting and finishing in Leeds, 19 MPS colleagues will be tackling the Maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride route at three distances (49km/87km/129km) - I will be dong the 87km/55 mile route - all in the name of charity. We’ll be riding on the same roads that the pros will be on during their last day in Yorkshire for the Tour de France, through the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside, to raise money for charity.
This year, we’re fundraising for our MPS Charity of the Year, DementiaUK, they help fund more specialist dementia nurses, giving families the strength and support they need to cope during the toughest times.
Admiral Nurses provide the specialist dementia support that families need.
When things get challenging or difficult, the nurses work alongside people with dementia, and their families: giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline–it helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.
Most Admiral Nurses work in the community for the NHS, and others work in care homes, hospitals and hospices.
Admiral Nurses work with people and families affected by all types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies.
We’re doing it so you don’t have to! Thank you for your kind donations and supporting both us, and DementiaUK’s work.
See you on the finish line!
