Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It costs £7220 a day to run Wakefield Hospice so my £500 target will do the business for just an hour and forty minutes - probably about the time it will take me to run the 10k! I'm going to really, really need some help!
I've never run before, and in my innocence, I thought I was signing up to some sort of fun run. Six weeks is surely plenty of time to train for a fun run? Then I realised the fun runs were 1k and 3k... So now I have three targets - to raise £500, to finish the race, and not to finish last.
Fortunately, I have a training partner. Unfortunately she's a different class - she has twice the number of legs and she's 38 years younger. And I can't keep kidding myself I can turn on the Doberman Power Assistance for the hills in the real race.
I appreciate 10km doesn't sound much - especially when you're in the car - but to me, six weeks away from having to actually run it, it does seem like a bit of a mountain to climb. It's a bit daunting right now. I'm going to try and keep this page up to date - list my injuries and hopefully some progress - and I'm definitely going to do everything I can to reach my £500 target.
So please dig deep and donate now. And tomorrow, and the day after as well if you can! [note to self - keep the Geldof-isms to a minimum!]
