Target Steps 16,250 x 31 = 503,750

Achieved 505,614 which equates to 213.40 miles!

Amount we have raised together including gift aid from individuals friends, family neighbours and supporters is  £2,172.50. Plus 'Oxfordshire Mark Benevolent Association' has very kindly agreed to donate a further £1,000 bringing the Grand Total raised including gift aid to a truly  magnificent £3,172.50!!!

I wish to extend my sincere personal thanks to all those who donated, and or, sent me messages of encouragement and support.

Together we have made a significant difference to the Lives of those beneficiaries who will benefit from your wonderful generosity.

I can tell you that it was very hard this time and hurt every day , I would not have kept going without your support and kind messages.

I can confirm that the walking shoes are in the bin!!

Thank you all.

I've created this page because I want to make a difference and I'd like you to help me make that difference. I retired on 28th February and many people have asked me what I plan to do. Well I am associated with a number of charity orientated organisations. As part of my initial retirement planning I am once again challenging myself with Adrian's Windrush Mad March Hare challenge. I accepted this challenge at the start of our festival in 2020 and with the help and support of some fantastic people raised a superb £2,400 for the charity.  I'm inspired 3 years on to once again put on my walking boots and have another go to raise funds  the Mark Benevolent fund 125th Oxfordshire festival which culminates in 2025. I am a festival Steward and fund raising co-ordinator for the charity and want to raise as much as possible, knowing by seeing how transformative this money can be for some of the beneficiaries who receive grants and support from the fund.

The Mark benevolent fund is a wonderful charity that provides grants to other smaller charities locally and across the country. It is also able to respond very quickly to national disasters like the earthquake in Turkey and Syria when it  donated £50,000 within days of the tragedy to respected charities on the ground locally in the affected areas.

But one of the most important aspects of this charity is its ability to react very quickly,  to individual calls for assistance locally, without the red tape and bureaucracy usually associated with having to apply for such support.

My challenge is to walk an average of 16,250 steps every single day of March to raise as much as I possibly can.

I will post regular updates on my social media.

Please help me if you can by making any donation you feel able to give without detriment to yourself.

If you are a tax payer, please do tick the gift aid box as this will allow the charity to claim a further 25% on top of your personal contribution.

Thank you all for your generosity, it means a lot to me, and even more to those the charity is able to support because of your gift.
