Adrian Colquhoun is raising money for Kidney Research UK
Story
Those of you who know me will know that I have my own personal experience of the damage and disruption that kidney disease can bring. Much of Gail's side of the family suffer from Polycystic Kidney Disease. This is a hereditary disorder that leads to kidney failure in later life. Gail's mum, Jennifer is currently on dialysis and is very ill.
This will be my first, and last marathon ! - I cant think of a more worthwhile and appropriate cause for which to raise funds. The National Kidney Research Fund campaigns to promote organ donation. They also fund medical research into kidney disease and run a telephone helpline to provide support and information for patients and relatives. I completed the marathon in a gruelling 5hrs 15 minutes. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. The final fundraising total now stands at £2003
