Story
In November 2022, after bouts of illness and serious weight loss, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. A cancer of the lymph nodes particularly in my torso, neck and around my heart. Over the following 6 months, I was placed under care of the doctors and nurses at the Royal Marsden, Sutton to undergo chemotherapy. Their care has been amazing, and I can't understate how easy this process has felt thanks to them. My treatment finished in May 2023.
As both my health and fitness return to their prior states, I have set my self the challenge of riding from London to Brighton in September. I will be riding for the Marsden Charity in recognition of their brilliant work to cure cancer patients like myself. It is without doubt that without the research that they do and the care that they provide, cancer would be a much larger problem than what it is now.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
