Story

Last month at work, I had the opportunity to hear Zainab Salbi speak about her work with Women for Women International, an organization dedicated to helping women in conflict and post-conflict areas rebuild stable and safe lives.

Having heard in passionate and heartfelt detail how so many women face great difficulties in their daily lives in conflict zones around the world, I thought I would do my bit by signing up for the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge.  As an infrequent participant in any form of sport, you can imagine how challenging a 5.6km run will be, but this is a cause which really struck a chord with me and so this race will be a great opportunity to help out people less fortunate than myself.

Any money raised will be used by Women for Women International not only to provide financial assistance but to also provide rights awareness, leadership education and vocational skills training and whatever I raise will also be matched by Barclays Capital!

Thanks in advance for your contribution.

PS I'm not going to be running in a gingerbread man costume.
