#MakeAChristmasDifference

Make a Christmas Difference · 1 December 2019
This year I will be spending Christmas day at The Salvation Army; cooking a full Christmas lunch, decorating the tables and filling stockings with gifts for the homeless, underprivileged and vulnerable in Hereford.
The Salvation Army cares for homeless, underprivileged and vulnerable people globally - victims of trafficking, modern slavery and domestic abuse, as well as alcohol and substance addiction. Every year more than 700 Salvation Army centres celebrate Christmas with lunches, carol services and present donations; at our residential centres for homeless, community centres for lonely elderly people and by organising food and gift deliveries to low income, struggling families.
Over the past 3 months of my volunteering, I have witnessed personally the incredible impact our work has on a daily basis; providing hot food to those who haven't eaten for days, dry clothes after a rainy night and simple necessities such as a toothbrush. But most importantly, The Salvation Army provides a safe environment with friendly faces and a listening ear to anyone who needs it. At Christmas, more than ever, we need your help so we can give everyone a Christmas worth remembering.
The Salvation Army does not receive government funding and operates purely on a donation basis. So please spare a thought for those with nowhere to go this Christmas, no food and no money to put presents under the tree for their children. That's why I'm joining The Salvation Army on Christmas Day this year, to ensure that every person on the streets of Hereford feels special this Christmas #MakeAChristmasDifference
