Adie & Archie doing the Derby 10k and 3k.

Well, I'm finally doing it!!

Having entered this race twice before and not actually run it, I can confirm that I am running the Derby 10k on Sunday April 6th and my 9 year old son Archie, will be running the 3k race.

I now have the motivation.

In January 2013 Kate's Mum, Sue Cracknell, was taken ill with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).  For details click https://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/information/other-blood-cancers/myelodysplastic-syndromes-mds

Sadly the Cracknell family were given the most tragic news that this illness was terminal. From that moment, there have been the expected & numerous visits to and from hospital for treatments of chemotherapy and to manage the symptoms of this horrible disease.

Sue made a good recovery throughout the summer of 2013, which gave me the opportunity to see what a truly wonderful and inspirational woman she is and to see her in the light that I would have missed had I met Kate a few months later.

Sadly Sue is back in hospital now and I feel that by doing something like this, it may just help her spirits a little bit.

Therefore, on Sue's behalf, Archie and I are running for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research

Here is what they do.
