Story
Everyone knows that I love a challenge - Judo, Rugby, Weight-lifting and of course Sumo. There does seem to be a theme - Tough Hard Demanding oh and nuts!!! Although I like to get stuck in and get fit, it takes me a while to make my mind up what I should do. I lost lots of weight in 2012 and was on top form then at the start of 2013 I had vertigo and off work, feeling low and got fat (not good). At the start of this year I decided that I should get back to that happy place - I must start eating healthy and exercise. My little Grace had made a few little comments one being - "mummy I don't want you to get fat and poorly !!. Children are great at speaking their minds and hitting right were it hurts. Love her to bits.
So time started to tick by and I just didn't get started. Then the girls at work asked what I was going to give up for lent - I had a long hard think. I gave up some foods at the beginning of 2012 so thought I would try it again this time adding a few more things. So I gave up my lovely Chocolate, Crisps and Bread, followed by Coffee, tea and fizzy drinks. At the same time I thought I should start to exercise. (its now May and I'm still sticking to it)
I came across the Pink Collar Boxing Page on Facebook. I read all about these lovely ladies who decided to train hard for 8 weeks and then at the end fight. They had all done it for different reasons but during their journey had raised lots of money for various Charities.
Now I had my challenge. I've never been good at running (Race for Life) in fact I don't even run a bath, so the Boxing was right up my street (tough, hard and definitely nuts!!) - raise money for Cancer Research UK, get fit and loose the weight and feel great..
I would love you to come and watch me fight but I know its not for everyone but if you could donate to Cancer Research UK - I know you'll be with me in my fight and the fight against Cancer.
Thank you.
