Story
Covid 19 has touched us all in different ways. Apart from a minor brush with it in March, my nearest and dearest have been safe and well and I am very thankful for that.
I have loved working from home and I promise you I am working as hard as ever, but without the commute, I have two hours more in my day so when the Aspire pool re-opened I started swimming, and swimming and when I realised I was doing about 120 lengths a week, I realised that 1416 lengths in three months is attainable (even in the slow lane!!). So I have decided to put my swimming to good use and take on the Aspire Channel Swim 2020, swimming the distance of the English Channel (22 MILES) over 12 weeks to raise money for Aspire,
Brian has offered to get some goose fat for the swim but as I shall be doing it in a pool used for hydrotherapy and not in the English Channel dodging ferries in a Force 9 gale, this will not be necessary....
Aspire is based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and provides the essential equipment, advice and housing that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently.
Please sponsor me if you can, this the biggest and madest sporting challenge I've ever done and the more I raise, the more of a difference I'll make.
Thank you
Adele xxx
