Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I'm running my first half marathon (13.1 miles) at the Great North Run for The Stroke Association.
I've chosen this charity because I think work they do is really very important! I'll be running in Loving Memory of my Grandma Winifred 'Omo' Harris and for the family and friends who've also lost fabulous people over the years to strokes x
It's likely that your life has been affected by a stroke in some way because approximately 150,000 people a year in the UK have a stroke - that's one person every 5 minutes.
A stroke is the third most common cause of death in the UK and the single most common cause of disability.
The numbers are quite daunting and yet acting F.A.S.T and catching a stroke quickly limits the damage done and can increase the chance of a better recovery.
The Stroke Association's main focus is to prevent strokes and give support to people who have suffered from strokes and their families through information and rehabilitation and support services.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
