Story
On New Year's Eve 2019, Adeela, our beautiful sister who was only 39 at that time and Mum of 3 small children nearly died after a missed diagnosis of Grade 4 Glioblastoma- an aggressive brain tumour that was growing rapidly inside her head causing her debilitating headaches for the previous three months.
Since that terrible night, Adeela had an emergency 12 hour operation that left her with a 9 inch scar on her skull and 8 months of gruelling radiotherapy and Chemotherapy that saw her lose over half her body weight and all her beautiful hair.
Sadly despite the treatment, we got the devastating news that the remaining tumour was not responding to the treatment and she had another emergency operation to remove as much of the tumour growth as possible in October 2019.
Since that time Adeela tried every possible treatment, new trial drug and naturopathic medicine that she could physically endure. All the while...she bore her pain and illness with a beautiful patience with the word "Alhamdulillah" (all thanks to Allah) frequently as her strength.
Allah swt had other Plans for our sister and after a gruelling two and a half year battle, Adeela returned to her Lord just after 7pm on Saturday 29th of May 2021.
After much discussion with Adeela during her illness, we had started to build a legacy village in Gambia for our sister. The village will consist of a School with at least two classrooms, a playground area, A Masjid complex for children's Hifz classes, toilets, a water well and some agricultural land through which the village community can remain self sufficient. The two classrooms are already up and running. This is going to be called "Project Dee".
We want to channel all our grief and despair of watching our sisters health deteriorate so rapidly...into a positive legacy which in time, we pray is an eternal source of sadqa jaaria for her.
Please support this campaign generously. So many people have asked how they can help the family at this difficult time- this was her wish. For everyone who loves Adeela- for all the love she has given in her time here on earth so far; to be a part of her legacy. We ask that you remember to donate with the intention of this being a sadaqa jaaria (eternally continuous charity)
May this project be of benefit and a source of blessings to Adeela and everyone who contributes....Ameen
