Story
When Ada was born, she was very poorly and transferred to the Jessop’s neonatal ward in Sheffield. She received outstanding care and we were looked after so well as a family. We thought Ada’s christening would be a great opportunity to raise money for the wonderful work they do. The current project they are raising money for is described below. Thanks in advance for your contributions!
Around 8000 babies are born each year at the Jessop Wing and for most parents this is a joyful occasion and a time to celebrate, but sadly some families have to deal with the devastating heartbreak of losing a child. At such an emotionally challenging time, bereaved parents desperately need their own space. They need privacy to be together in a warm, comfortable and calming space. Our next transformation project will focus on creating a new bereavement suite, where families can spend time in serene surroundings either indoors or outside in a private, peace garden. With your help, we can make an incredibly distressing experience that little bit easier for the 250 families a year that need the support of the bereavement services. Please help us to reach our target of £230,000 in the next 12 months so we can begin to develop this new facility that will provide a haven for bereaved families, caring for them in their hours of need.
