Story
On Sunday the 7th of April 2024, I will be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause.
My name is Adam and I have been working as an animal care assistant for the RSPCA since 2021. My job involves rehabilitating and preparing animals for a fresh start in life after they have been removed from distressing and often horrific living conditions.
So what is the process of rehabilitation?
Animals are initially collected by the RSPCA’s dedicated network of inspectors and animal rescue officers, who go above and beyond to rescue animals in need. Once collected animals are then transported to RSPCA rescue centres up and down the country.
Once the animals arrive at the centres they can then start their journey of recovery in a warm, caring and safe environment. Many of the animals that come into RSPCA care often require extensive veterinary treatments which can be expensive. From severe emaciation to untreated medical needs the RSPCA is here to ensure animals receive the best veterinary care to help them along with their recovery. As an animal care assistant it is my role to ensure animals are receiving correct animal welfare during their stay, from giving dogs their daily exercise, to administering treatments no day is the same.
It’s thanks to generous donations from the public that allows the RSPCA to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome thousands of mistreated and neglected animals each year. I am running to raise vital funds and ensure the RSPCA can keep rescuing animals from hostile environments in the hope that together we can all help #CANCELOUTCRUELTY
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, anything you give can help change the life of a mistreated animal for the better!
