Hello all,

Every hour in the UK three more men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and at least one will die of the disease.That’s about 32,000 diagnoses and 11,000 deaths each year. It is now the most common cancer to affect men.

On the 18th September 2010 I will be taking part in an event named 'The Nokia Coast to Coast'

This moment of madness will involve me covering 109 miles of Scottish Highland, by running, mountain biking and kayaking across and over some of Scotlands most famous land marks (Loch Ness, Fort Augustus, Fort William and Ben Nevis to name a few)

I have chosen to use this opportunity to raise as much money as i can for a charity named 'PROSTAID'.

'PROSTAID' do fantastic work in raising funds and awareness of Prostate Cancer which is diagnosed to seemingly healthy chaps often without warning. The money i raise will go towards help fund new equipment, as well as treatment and care in hospitals and clinics. It will assist in raising public awareness of the disease and those who are at most risk, along with developing and maintaining a local suppport network for sufferers.

I fully appreciate that it seems we are frequently being asked to dip into our pockets and donate to one charity or another by a friend / collegue etc... and whilst no charity donation is perhaps more important than the other, All i would ask is that you try and part with whatever you can to help this invaluable work continue.
