Story
I am part of a team, raising funds for FACE (Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh) in memory of one of the team’s Mum, Catherine Herriot. Donald's Mum lost her fight with cancer, but the support that FACE provided was a great comfort to her.
The main aim of FACE, which is based in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, is to raise money to support and make possible a series of small improvements to patient care and comfort. For the benefit of patients ant the Western, and the peripheral clinics in Fife, Edinburgh and the Lothians, the Borders, and Dumfries. You can find out more about the work FACE do here .
The challenge the team has chosen to undertake is the National Three Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1345m) England (Scafell Pike - 978m) and Wales (Snowdon - 1085m) within 24 hours. It has a total walking distance of 23 miles and a total driving distance of 462 miles. We will make our attempt on the 18/19th June 2023.
The team consists of:
Walkers: Myself, Donald Herriot, Ryan MacFarlane, Stephen Wibden & Stuart Horan.
Drivers and Support: Ally Scott and Craig Gamble.
Any donations, no matter how big or small, or even just spreading this page far and wide, would be massively appreciated.
Thank you.
