London Marathon 2022 for Alzheimers Research

Virtual London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Thanks for taking a look at my JustGiving page for running the London Marathon.
Those of you who have played football with me will know that running is not my strength - let alone long distance running. Add to that two knackered Achilles’ tendons and knees which mean I struggle down the stairs most mornings, so this is undoubtedly the hardest and most stupid thing I’ve ever done.
But I’m doing it to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research. Some of you will know that Clive, my step dad, was recently diagnosed with an advanced form of dementia. He had been a bit confused for a couple of years but kept being told it was stress. Then last year he deteriorated very dramatically very quickly. Within a few months, he had very little knowledge of those around him and is currently stuck in hospital until a place can be found capable of looking after him.
The reality is that running the marathon won’t make a difference for Clive, but any money you raise will help Alzheimer’s Research find a cure for this horrible disease, and stop it ruining families’ lives.
Please donate. Your generosity will definitely spur these condemned legs to keep going.
Thanks!
