Hi.
It has always been an ambition of mine to undertake such a gruelling event as a
marathon. I promised myself to run and raise money for charity when I
turned 18 years of age.
Earlier this year, my dear cousin,
Stephanie Darling, died when she was just 28 years old from a rare
and virulent form of cancer called Sarcoma. I could not imagine a better reason to raise money for the charity that supported her before she passed away. Her family work tirelessly for
'The Sarcoma Trust' and maintaining this
high level of benevolence will be an honour. Please visit ‘
www.sarcoma-uk.org’ for more information of the charity. My charity of choice is
'The Sarcoma Trust'.
The London Marathon was fully booked when I applied
and I am pleased to be accepted for the
Marathon 2010 instead. I will be training during my college studies and I am dedicated to
succeed, both, for the charity and myself. Ambitious as it may seem for
a first timer, I aim to complete the run in 3 hours 45 minutes.
Come the 21st March 2010, I shall be embarking on the treacherous
ordeal that involves 26 miles and 365 yards of the Italian capital. You may have
recognised this feat will be only 19 days after my 18th birthday. I regret to announce
that all major celebrations will be on hold until the event is completed.
The impressive Colosseum and the sacred Vatican City will be no distraction as I leave them in my trail.
My goal is to raise £3000 for '
The Sarcoma Trust', and with your kind donations, we
can achieve this.
Kind regards
Adam Norris
