So here I am trying to think of the most painful way to spend my autumn, pins in my eye and the like when I get an email from the lovely people at the MS Society, as I do, with an even better plan. Why not run 10 miles, yes MILES, not kilometres as I first thought, around Portsmouth on a cold, windy October day, so of course I said yes.

So I sent off my application and thought I best start training, I then re read the information and found out that it was 10 miles, Oh well I'm doing it now what's wrong with a bit more death. I will finish the race, The Great South Run by the way 26th October this year, come hell or high water I will finish it .

So here I am getting ready to do the hardest thing, physically, that I have ever done in my life all for the sake of charity. So by my reckoning you guys should all do something really easy to make sure I go through this agony, sponsor me, that's all, the more I raise the harder I'm gonna find it to come up with an excuse to back out.

Okay so that's what I'm doing, now for the why, I mean why do I get emails from the MS Society anyway? Why would I say I'd run 10 miles for these guys? Who knows? Well not many of you, that's for sure, however for once I do. Right so basically for more years than I care to remember I've been saying I'd do something for them, why? Many years ago both my Mum and Uncle were diagnosed with having Multiple Sclerosis, now they are both quite lucky right now, they don't suffer too much, relatively speaking, however, it is a degenerative illness and can cause many problems as time goes on.

It is because of both of them that I am doing this, all the money I raise will go to their local branch Maidenhead, Slough and District MS Society, so please donate what you can and help me try to make a difference.
