Story
24 years ago my older brother Adam passed away at the young age of 18 after a short battle with cancer.
Part of my brothers treatment took place at the Oxford Children’s Hospital where he received chemotherapy. Ward 4B (Kamran’s Ward) is the home of Paediatric oncology (Cancer) and Haematology (blood disorders).
Whilst my brother was there he was known as the grandad of the ward due to being the oldest patient. Seeing so many young people from babies to teenagers on the ward was heartbreaking.
Since my brothers passing my family and I have raised close to £200,000 for the ward so when I visit the ward now I have a huge sense of pride knowing the money raised is a huge help.
This year the annual Adam Blackwell Charity Golf Day will take place on Friday 26th August at Hazlemere Golf Day.
