WHY!
I wanted to do something so significant and for such a great cause (Mencap), it would define me for the rest of my life. Running a marathon doesn't cut it, so I've chosen two of the hardest races on the planet both physically and mentally to push myself to the limit and achieve something great for an amazing charity!
WHAT!
UK Ironman (July 2016) - Swim 2.5 miles, Bike 112 miles, Run 26.3 miles (Marathon)
Marathon des Sables (April 2017) - The hardest race on the planet! 7 marathons in 6 days across the Sahara desert in 50 degree plus heat, carrying all your kit and food for the week. People have died competing.
HOW!
One and a half years of training. Every day, 365 days a year, for hours at a time!
