Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be cycling from London to Brighton on Sunday 11th September for IFAW as I feel very passionately about helping animals.
“Like the people, they’re innocent. Those bombs — you know how sensitive dogs' ears and cats' ears are and what they must be going through,”
We all want Peace in Ukraine. The war has led to over 4.5m refugees, with thousands of lives being taken. Unfortunately, these numbers will continue to rise, and so will the number of animals. As families are forced to flee their homes, they cannot take their loved pets. Thousands of animals have been stranded at train/bus stations, leading to emotional stress for both humans and animals.
Alongside family pets, a shattered zoo in Ukraine has already lost 100 animals due to Russian forces as it tries to evacuate the remaining creatures to safety. We have to do more to help both refugees and their loves animals.
International Fund for Animal Welfare
The IFAW is working with local partners to get supplies to wildlife sanctuaries and animal shelters in Ukraine, as well as groups supporting refugees in surrounding countries.
Since the conflict started, IFAW has supported multiple partners helping animals and people in Ukraine and the surrounding countries. Their team has now deployed to Poland and will continue to work with local shelters and government authorities. Their first priority on the ground is to understand the scale of unmet needs for shelters, animals, and people and their pets. Because of you, we are able to provide immediate support where it is needed most.
