I have decided to run the Great South Run for my dear friend Adrian who has been battling bravely with this terrible illness for around 7 years and sadly has now been confined to a wheelchair. 

Here are some key facts about MND

MND is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord.

MND attacks the nerves that control movement, so muscles no longer work but does not affect the senses, sight, sound and smell. 

Over 80% of MND will have communication difficulties and some will have complete loss of voice.

MND can leave people locked in a failing body unable to move, talk, swallow and eventually breathe.

6 people are diagnosed every day, up to 5,000 people are fighting MND at various stages of the disease.

MND takes the lives of 6 people each and every day!

MND STILL HAS NO CURE!!!
