Story
My mum fell ill and was admitted to hospital on 1st May 2020. Her condition very quickly became critical and she was in a coma for 6 weeks. The ITU team at both King Georges and Queens hospital saved my mums life.
Unfortunately, the injuries she has suffered have left her bed bound and still in the care of Queens Hospital. It has been an incredibly challenging time for all of us; my sister Zoe, her partner Tony, her Brothers, family, friends and everyone that knows her.
Although it is a long road ahead, she has shown tremendous spirit and strength to come this far which in large part, is down to the NHS Neuro Rehab Team at Queens. We will forever be grateful for their energy, support and positivity working with somewhat limited resource to achieve nothing short of miracles. It is for them that this page is raising funds for.
We hope to provide the team with new state of the art equipment to evolve their rehab capabilities and the charity is giving all donations raised directly to them. We hope this will in time be able to support others that require the same treatment my mum has undergone and with so many neurological injuries in the current climate, it's something that is greatly needed.
The idea of the cycle to Southend was born from a late invite from Josh to do the London > Brighton Ride however, this has been cancelled due to social distancing - but we thought sod it lets do Southend instead! Josh has already raised money for the NSPCC and I am grateful to him that he is now helping to raise money for the Queens Neuro Rehab Team.
Please help support by donating and sharing as much as you can x
