Kilimanjaro Trek - Amnesty International UK · 21 August 2022 to 24 September 2022 ·
Hi, I am Adam Ševčík and I am a first year student at King’s College London reading European politics. I decided to raise money for the Amnesty International UK Charitable Trust because, despite human rights being taken for granted in the West, there are still too many people who are being deprived of them all around the world. They include unlawful killing of civilians, including women and children. Or when opposers of authoritarian regimes are violently repressed, tortured and executed. Whereas there are many more such atrocities taking place every single day.
To give you an idea about how you can help prevent further human rights abuses:
£5 - Raises awareness of human rights abuses and helps get our voice heard by policy-makers
£10 - Supports human rights education projects to teach school children about their rights
£15 - Helps send human rights researchers to investigate torture and abuses
I thus wish to aid the Amnesty International by taking part in the Kilimanjaro Trek Challenge with KCL where over 9 days I will embark upon a multi-day trek to a significant altitude of 5,895m above sea-level. I will find myself in remote environments with limited facilities on this tough physical challenge. You'll be supporting Amnesty International UK, a grassroots organisation campaigning for justice and human rights wherever they have been denied. For more information on their work, go to www.amnesty.org.uk/issues.
Together, you, me and Amnesty international, we can create a world where people do not have to suffer from human rights abuses anymore. So let’s start today!
