Story
My Story......... well where to start! I am an ordinary 34 year old guy who has a bit of an extraordinary journey through life so far! In my 34 years I have had Thyroid cancer, testicular cancer and had my right hip resurfaced due to early onset osteoarthritis. I am both unlucky and lucky, but mainly lucky as I have come through the other side fitter and stronger than ever (well I hope I have, in any event I'm about to have that tested to the max by attempting to do this that's for sure!)
Why after surviving all of that am I attempting something so painful and difficult??!! Its because I want to put my good luck to use for the force of good and help those who on a daily basis suffer prejudice and disadvantage. I want to do something for people with disabilities.
Carer wise I have pretty much always been involved in the field of equality and discrimination law and that is what has lead me to know about all the essential work Disability Rights UK do to support disabled people and has more recently given me the opportunity to work alongside them at a time when disabled people really need good advice and support.
I am making a personal sacrifice, putting my battered body on the line to raise money for this amazing, worthwhile charity! All I ask is for you to support me in my efforts and if you can help me by putting your hand in your pocket so I can raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause I would be eternally grateful!!! You may just want to sponsor me because the thought of me in lycra running is hilarious! Either way I would be over the moon if you could spare some cash to help me and more importantly help the disabled people who make use of the services Disability Rights UK provide.
