Story
Thank you to everyone who very kindly donated to the Stroke Association last summer when I was due to run the Cardiff half marathon. Unfortunately, I was unable to take part in the event due to injury, but hopefully this bigger event will challenge me further. Your money has already been donated to the charity and this page is for any further generous donations in memory of my Bamp.
In 2022, I lost a very close family member of mine to stroke, my Bamp, Mervyn. He was a full-time carer for my Nan, who also suffered from a life changing stroke in 2016. Over the last 6 and a half years he continually showed unbelievable patience, mental resilience and physical strength.
I'm taking part in this Triathlon to challenge myself physically and mentally in memory of my Bamp and also for my Nan who continues to fight through the awful, life changing effects of stroke.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Stoke associations specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support, they can rebuild even more lives.
