Atlantic Pacific is a charity with a very simple ambition: to end global drowning. As one of the planets biggest killers, predominantly taking place in developing countries and under resourced communities, drowning is a cause of death that nobody deserves.
Our work is focussed on the development of tools, like our Lifeboat in a Box (LIB), that can be provided to communities to establish their own means of rescue, as well as the training of Search & Rescue operatives.
Funds from Final Descents will be used to develop our next generation of rigid-hulled inflatable boat (Hahn Evolution) to be the best in-shore rescue boat. This will be used for deployment in developing countries as part of APs Lifeboat in a Box programme. As well as a new rescue asset, AP is looking into ways at constructing our boats from recycled plastic, to make reproduction of these boats cheap and achievable for our partners located in countries which lack resource.
