A big thanks to everybody who's sponsored me! I finished the run yesterday 2.5 mins slower than last year - you could put it to me getting old, or to the fact I needed to stop halfway to have a wee!! My time was 59.01. Next year I will make sure I go to the toilet beforehand. It's still not too late to sponsor me if you haven't already! The closing date for donations is 20/08/12. Thanks again!

On May 20th 2012 I will be running The Bupa Great Manchester 10k Run in aid of The Alzheimer's Society and in memory of my Grandad Sam.

Grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in early 2010 shortly after losing our Nan in the January, but sadly lost his brave battle with the disease on 10th October 2011.

Alzheimer's disease is a terrible disease and the most common cause of dementia, affecting around 465,000 people and their families in the UK.

In running The Bupa Great Manchester 10k Run in aid of The Alzheimer's Society I hope to raise the profile of this terrible disease that has so deeply affected our family and many others, and hope to raise money so that The Alzheimer's Society can continue to offer support to the people and families affected by this disease.

So please dig deep and donate now.
