In August 2004 my mum lost her ongoing battle with breast cancer, she was just 42 years old. Nine years on the pain is still as strong as ever and although I can not do anything to bring her back, I can do something to help prevent it happening to anyone else, by fundraising for a cure. My chosen charity is Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity very close to my heart. It was a severely challenging time for mum, dad and myself trying to battle it and we received some great support. So I feel it's appropriate to choose a challenge which will push me right to the limit...

On July 12th -13th I will be doing the 3 peaks challenge, climbing the 3 highest mountains in the UK; Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Mount Snowdon in Wales.

All with a special twist....all 3 to be climbed in under 24 hours. Thats a total of nearly 3,500m of ascent in just one day with no sleep.

Mum was a brave and wonderful person. I hope lots of you will be able to donate something for my charity for what is considered one of the toughest challenges in the UK I'm about to do.
