In February 2018 Carly and I welcomed our first child Jack in to the family. Lets just say, having a baby was a culture shock!
With no local family and few friends with young families, Carly turned to volunteering with the NCT. Through this she created a support network of parents and children, to mimic the close families we had both grown up with. We hadn't done a postnatal NCT course, therefore hadn't made the pivotal friendship group that parents have relied on for decades!
Carly especially feels very strongly about the mission of the NCT to improve parental knowledge for antenatal/postnatal issues and raise awareness of key issues such as breastfeeding support, PND etc. The NCT also strives to assist parents to create circles of support which we definitely found to be the case. Carly now runs her own parent/child group and volunteers at other groups specifically with the aim to support other parents.
Carly continued running online support groups during the 2020 COVID lockdowns whilst pregnant , and now volunteers to run the Wokingham Branch with our two sons as her mini Wingmen.

I support the NCT because I saw how much being involved with the NCT really improved my wife's experience of being a mother!

Any and all support will be gratefully received!
Help me raise a minimum of £1500 to help the National Childbirth Trust charity support local parent / child groups and country wide campaigns for safety / awareness / medical change.
