As many of you will know our close family friend Mike, tragically lost his wife Saima to Encephalitis. 

Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain affecting hundreds of thousands worldwide. It is caused by an infection invading the brain or even in some cases the immune system attacks the brain in error. 

Encephalitis starts with flu-like symptoms but serious problems can develop in just a few hours. Anyone can be affected by this very severe condition. 

Following 4 days in a coma, due to the severity of her illness, Saima sadly passed away. She is truly missed. 

In order to raise awareness for Encephalitis and The Encephalitis Society, we will be cycling from Manchester to London over 3 Days!! 

The ride will take place from the 24-26th April, this is going to be a real challenge because I’m very new to all this cycling!!

£2000 could fund lab equipment for vital research into understanding the cause of encephalitis, saving thousands of lives and bringing hope to families across the uk.
