The challenge
Getting out on my bike has kept me sane during the most recent lockdown, and seeing me squeezed into lycra has both entertained and horrified my neighbours.
So, on 6th June I'm going to cycle 100km/ 60miles to raise money for Norfolk's cancer charity - Big C.
I'll post training updates using the snappy hashtag #fatladinlycra
Why are you doing this?
Two fantastic strong women in my life were diagnosed with cancer in recent years, one of whom is still with us - although chemo has taken it's toll, and the other sadly passed away.
Cancer treatment is a hard path to walk for patients, friends and family. It is also a wake up call to ensure you leave nothing unsaid and make the most of the time you have together.
Which is why the work of Big C really matters, in addition to funding the medical and scientific fightback against cancer it also resources the pastoral support patients, friends and family need.
I know times are tight, but anything you can spare - even if it's just a couple of quid - can really make a difference. Thank you

About Big C
Every year more than 8000 people in Norfolk and Waveney are told the news that they have cancer, and many more are living with the effects every day.
Since 1980 Big C has been dedicated to the fight against cancer and today we help the thousands of people affected, across our county, while working to improve future outcomes.
Our work focuses on four key areas - supporting people affected by cancer, funding world-class local research into cancer, providing vital medical equipment and facilities in the county's main hospitals and educating local people about cancer for the future.
