Story
Hello generous person
I decided to apply for the Edinburgh marathon, before I had even run to the end of my road, stupidly not realising that it is indeed a marathon task I have undertaken. I have greatly underestimated how hard running for such a long period of time is, but I am determined to see this through now and complete the race.
I applied mainly for motivation to start exercising more regularly and also for a goal to aim for, but I am also running for a charity:
I am running for The British Heart Foundation which is a very worthwhile charity mainly because in the UK alone:
· Cardiovascular disease causes more deaths each year than any other single disease or condition
· Someone dies from a heart attack every six minutes – that’s 10 people every hour.
· In total, 146,000 people have a heart attack every year and 94,000 of them die.
· 179 people lose one of their parents every day to a fatal heart attack.
· One third of people who suffer a fatal heart attack die before they can be taken to hospital
But also because...
There is some pioneering research taking place where Zebra fish are being used to discover the next preventative and treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease because these fish have the ability to repair their own hearts. A lot of money is needed to fund this. Watch the links below if you are interested:

I also work in health care and for a company which is primarily concerned with cardiovascular disease and how to prevent it.
So please give generously and support some great pioneering research
Thank you
Adam
