Story
Hi, I'm Adam and I'm cycling 350km across Cuba, to raise money for the Kent Air Ambulance Trust.
I have decided to raise money for the Kent Air Ambulance Trust, because it provides a fantastic life saving service to people all over Kent. The trust is purely funded by donations and receives no money from the Government, NHS, or National Lottery. Your donation will help keep this vital service running, saving the lives of hundreds of people in Kent.
Any donations will be gratefully received, Thank You.
Where does the money go?
It costs £1.7 million each year to run a 12 hour, 7 day service 356 days a year.
£100 buys 45 minutes of aviation fuel, and £550 would buy 1 hours flying time.
Some Air Ambulance Facts;
Wherever the Air Ambulance lands in Kent, it is never more than 7 minutes away from a receiving A&E, or 16 minutes from the regional trauma centre.
The Air Ambulance flies with 1 Pilot, 1 Doctor, and 1 Paramedic on all missions.
In 2008, the Ambulance flew 796 missions , and so far this year the Air Ambulance has flown 354 missions (July 2010).
Since it started 20 years ago, the trust has flown over 13,000 missions.
