I have recently completed a degree in Environmental Conservation at Bangor University where my knowledge of nature conservation was developed and I become more interested and aware of the problems that our flora and fauna face everyday. We are all aware that conservation is high on the agenda at the moment and there are many programs highlighting the problems many animals are facing. However plants are often in the background and the important job that they do is not always highlighted. I believe that Plantlife are doing a great job in highlighting the important part that plants have to play in the diversity of life in the UK and the problems they are currently faced with. Following the work that Plantlife have already done (including saving some plants from extinction) and promoting the importance of plants to parliament I believe they are doing some fantastic work.
