Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the 249 JustGiving page - This year we are entering 5 teams to raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile cause.

The WAAT4 Challenge is a prestigious navigation event in Wales’ beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Teams from all over the UK take part every year to raise money for many good causes and charities.

The 249 teams will once again be braving weather, blisters and 30km of ascents and descents to raised money for a very worthwhile cause.

The Wales Air Ambulance responds to roughly 2000 missions every year. Around 400 of these are paediatric missions (children under 16 years) and approximately 30% of missions are to road traffic collisions.

The helicopter can be airborne within 3 minutes of receiving an emergency call. The aircraft can travel at 150mph – over 2 miles per minute – and can reach anywhere in Wales within 20 minutes, to ensure casualties with life threatening injuries can be treated within the critical 'Golden Hour'.
