Story
Back in 2018 I ran a 10K for Microtia UK, I'd hope to do something in 2020, but then the world fell apart. This year after successfully running a SINGLE 10K, I broached the idea of running a Half Marathon and that idea got legs then, thanks to Tina, I'm now committed to running over twice the distance of any run I have ever completed! Well, thankfully it's for a good cause.
My son, Charlie, is five in August and his Microtia has never stopped him being who he is and we have been confident to deal with most situations that arise. A lot of this can be accounted to Microtia UK, who have built up an amazing support network and helped parents, children and even pensioners learn and understand the condition they were born with.
We have been lucky, but getting the right diagnosis and treatment can be difficult and I have seen the support they have given. They have even branched out into funding research on studies both on the physical and mental care for those with Microtia or similar conditions.
