Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you follow me on twitter @AdsthePoet you will know that I have been receiving wonderful care from the staff at Leeds Children's Hospital since September, but this is a very long time to be in hospital and  I know better than most, that if you are stuck in hospital for months on end, especially if, like me, you are in isolation, you need more FUN in your life.

You will also know that I am trying to raise funds for Leeds Children's Hospital Appeal to bring more fun to the lives of the children and young people here and that I am also getting excited about the World Cup, as I love watching sport, especially football.

I am combining all these things, supported by mum and dad, to run a Twitter World Cup Sweepstake, so that my twitter friends and I can make the World Cup really fun for me and others who might be isolated, while raising much needed funds for Leeds Children's Hospital Appeal so that all the boys and girls here can have more fun.  I do hope you will support me by joining in my Twitter World Cup Sweepstake.

Here is how it will work:-

1) To join in you make a donation to Leeds Children's Hospital Appeal using this page and include a twitter name or email for contact;

2) I choose at random (out of an envelope) one of the 32 World Cup teams for you and let you know your team by Twitter (or email);

3) We have lots of fun on twitter following our teams;

4) The owner of the winning team wins a £32 token (donated by mum and dad) (guess why it is £32!), you can choose between a Book, Amazon , John Lewis or M&S Token.  (This is in place of winning some of the money as in a normal sweepstake, as I hope everyone will be happy for all the money to go to Leeds Children's Hospital Appeal).

PLEASE DO JOIN THE FUN AND HELP ME RAISE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE FOR LEEDS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL APPEAL & HAVE FUN DURING THE WORLD CUP.

Here is the poem I wrote about scoring the winning goal at the World Cup:-

World Cup Winner

With aching legs and a heart full of pride,
The noise of the crowd left nowhere to hide.
The clock was ticking towards the end of the game,
If it stayed a draw, it would be a shame.
In my nation’s shirt, in the heart  of  Brazil
Scoring the winning goal would be such a thrill.
In the heat of Rio, I dive for the ball,
But it hits the post, I feel such a fool!
I rally my strength and run up the pitch,
I use my right foot, avoiding a hitch.
The ball floats through the air and over the line,
The feeling inside of me is simply divine.
The ref blows the whistle, the crowd shout and scream,
I’ve scored the winner, I’m living the dream!
